District Controller

Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (HPPSC) has released Advertisement No. 59/8-2026, inviting online applications for the H.P. Administrative Service Combined Competitive Examination 2026 — 22 posts across five services: H.P. Administrative Service, Block Development Officer, District Controller, District Treasury Officer and Tehsildar. Online applications are open from 26 August 2026 to 22 September 2026, with the exam fee (₹600, uniform for all categories) payable by the same date. Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree from a recognized university and be aged between 21 and 35 years as on 1 January 2026, with 5 years' age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PwD/WFF candidates of Himachal Pradesh where the post is reserved for these categories, and separate relaxation for HP Government servants (up to 45 years for HPAS/Tehsildar/BDO/Treasury Officer posts, 42 years for District Controller) and Ex-Servicemen of HP as detailed in the official notification. Selection is a three-stage process: a Preliminary (screening) Examination of two objective papers (General Studies and Aptitude Test, 200 marks each, with negative marking), a Main Examination of six compulsory papers plus one optional subject chosen from a list of 31 subjects, and a Personality Test (interview) for candidates who qualify the Main Examination. The Preliminary Examination will be held at examination centres across Bilaspur, Chamba, Hamirpur, Kangra, Dharamshala, Palampur, Kullu, Mandi, Shimla, Nahan, Solan, Una, Sundernagar and Rampur Bushahr.
